We bring back five starters from the inaugural team that include, starting pitcher and former First Team All Region and All Tournament, Brooke Honeycutt, centerfielder and former Second Team All Conference and All Tournament, Brittany Draughn, slugger and shortstop Megan Stanley, second baseman Mallorie Vogler and third baseman Hannah Bullins. Shawn Watson will move to the student assistant position and be the eyes for the Knights. “I look for each of them to be leaders to our underclassmen on the field this year. Having had a year under their belt, I hope each of them comes out with something to prove this season.” States Coach Reid The Lady Knights add six to their roster this year to fill the gaps. “These six student athletes bring a lot to the table for the Knights this year. They fill crucial positions on the field, have great dynamics and I hope to see exciting things from each of them in their term.” says Coach Reid. Paige Honeycutt, SCC’s first official recruit, will secure the catching spot with relief from utility Ashley Reece. Anna Mitchell and Megan Marshall will add to the pitching staff, while Courtney Reid will secure first base and Kaitlin Shinault will perform as a utility player at third and outfield. Please locate our 2010 schedule through our website and we invite you out to our home games at Fisher River Park to join us in this exciting season for Surry Lady Knights Softball!
