Surry’s Megan Stanley has been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Volleyball Preseason All-American team. Stanley was selected as a third team All-American following an outstanding freshman campaign. The outside hitter led the Knights to a runner-up finish in Region X while being selected to the All-Region (First Team) and All-Tournament teams.

Stanley, a graduate of Surry Central High School, led the Knights with 3.14 kills per game. She averaged .364 aces per game and .795 digs per game. Stanley is also an outstanding student with a 3.08 grade point average while also being nominated as a college ambassador. Stanley was the only Region X player to earn preseason All-American accolades.

The Knights open the 2009 season on September 1 at Piedmont College. The Knights home opener is scheduled for September 3 against Central Carolina.
